There’s no question that the Boston Celtics has been very dominant during the regular season and the playoffs this year. The thing is, Golden State Warriors’ Draymond Green got real on the team if they don’t win the championship soon.
During the offseason, Boston’s front office revamped its roster by dealing Marcus Smart away and acquiring Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday. These moves allowed the Celtics starting unit to become more diverse on both offense and defense as they can now score and defend in a variety of ways.
As the regular season progressed, fans and critics alike witnessed who effective the Celtics’ new lineup was. Led by the All-Star duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, Boston rose up through the standings and finished the regular season with the best record in the NBA.
From there, Tatum and company faced a Jimmy Butler-less Miami Heat team and eliminated them in five games. A similar trend also happened when they faced Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round. Once those opponents were taken care of, the Celtics will soon face whoever wins between the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.
