Former England midfielder Carlton Palmer says the fact Josh Windass played just 25 games last season in the Championship is a concern for any club trying to sign him.
Derby County have been linked with the forward along with Stoke City, West Brom and Hull, with the 30-year-old set to be out of contract this summer. He is likely to have no shortage of suitors, and America could also be a potential destination for the striker who scored seven goals last season.
Derby will revamp their attack this summer after winning promotion back to the Championship, with Paul Warne eager to add more athleticism. But Palmer, a Wednesday legend, says the fact you have to go back to the 2020/21 season for the last time Windass played more than 40 games is a problem.

“Josh Windass is out of contract this summer, and talks are ongoing with Sheffield Wednesday,” Palmer told FLW.
“Josh has been an integral part of Sheffield Wednesday in the last few seasons. Of course, he scored the winning goal at Wembley to get them promoted back to the Championship. He’s hugely popular with the supporters, and is enjoying his time with Danny Rohl as I’m sure the rest of the players are.”
