Premier League club punished for breaching rules around deal for now Liverpool player
The Premier League transfer windows may have been and gone, but one club in the top division has been charged with breaching player registration rules
Fulham have been hit with a suspended ban on signing academy players after breaching player registration rules for now Liverpool ace Fabio Carvalho.
The west Londoners accepted the charges after the settlement payments for the Portuguese ace were deemed to be in breach of the rules by the Premier League.
A statement from the top flight said: “The Premier League and Fulham FC have entered into a sanction agreement following the club’s accepted breaches of the Premier League Rules in relation to player registrations.

“The club will face a six-month ban (suspended for one year) from registering any academy players currently or previously registered with another club and will pay a £75,000 fine.
“The suspended registrations ban commenced on 15 April 2024.” It also said: “As required by the Premier League Rules, the sanction agreement has been ratified by three members of the Independent Judicial Panel.”
