Rangers’ Injury Woes Continue.

Rangers Injury Woes Continue
The Texas Rangers cannot catch a break. Texas’s pitching rotation has been decimated by injuries. The Rangers’ position players have also endured trouble trying to stay on the field. Texas recently received two more unfortunate updates.

Outfielder Evan Carter, who displayed signs of stardom during the 2023 postseason, is expected to see a back specialist in Texas, per Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News. It was previously revealed that Carter was dealing with back stiffness. The Rangers are obviously hoping for the best results after Carter visits the back specialist. It will be a situation worth closely monitoring given its uncertain nature.

Meanwhile, starting pitcher Max Scherzer received a concerning injury update after already enduring a setback in his recovery from back surgery. Scherzer is reportedly dealing with more than the back issue. According to Manny Randhawa of MLB.com, Scherzer revealed that team doctors believe he may be dealing with a nerve injury.

“I went back to Dallas to see the doctors. All my strength is there, it’s testing out,” Scherzer said. “Now we’re thinking this is a nerve issue. It’s the thumb, the forearm and the triceps.”

It goes without saying, but Scherzer’s update is far from ideal. There were previous rumors that suggested he may be able to return in May. Now, his potential return is clouded in uncertainty.

The 2024 Rangers Injury Epidemic
Injuries happen in baseball. Yet, it is rare to see one team deal with as much injury trouble as the Rangers have during the 2024 campaign.
