Tottenham want ‘exceptional’ £17m talent backed to become ‘the next elite No. 9’.
Tottenham Hotspur have a fair bit of work to do this summer in terms of transfer activity.
Although Spurs have shown considerable improvement in terms of their style of play, they’ve still been inconsistent at times.
Indeed, Tottenham have suffered a major downturn in form at the worst possible time, leaving them all-but out of contention for the top four.
The foundations are certainly solid, but Spurs will need to add quality to their ranks, as well as strength in depth to ensure they can fight on four fronts next term.
Tottenham have certainly struck gold in recent years when it comes to signing top prospects who have become first-team stars.
Now, there may be another such player on the horizon, according to a transfer report out of Belgium.
According to VoetbalKrant, Spurs have set their sights on Royal Antwerp forward George Ilenikhena.
Tottenham are currently on the lookout for a new striker and have identified the 17-year-old as a target, according to the report.
In terms of price tag, Royal Antwerp are reportedly looking for at least €20million to sell Ilenikhena.
Who is Tottenham Hotspur target George Ilenikhena?
Ilenikhena was born in Lagos, Nigeria in August 2006 and moved to the Parisian suburb of Antony aged three. He rose through the ranks of the Antony Football Evolution project.
His big break at a football club came in 2021, when he joined Amiens and went on to become a first-team player for the Ligue 2 club.
