Juan Soto hit a home run and brought in five runs, while Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton also hit home runs as the New York Yankees defeated the Houston Astros 9-4 on Wednesday night.
It was the first time that all three of these powerful hitters connected in a single game for the Yankees, who have now won their fifth consecutive game and have a perfect 6-0 record against the Astros this season.
New York manager Aaron Boone expressed his delight, saying, “That certainly puts a smile on your face when those three guys do that.”
Stanton’s home run was an impressive shot, with the ball traveling at 119.9 mph into the second deck, making it the hardest-hit ball in the majors this year.

Soto also shared his thoughts, saying, “We all know how capable we are, and when you have nights like that, it’s great.”
New York’s starting pitcher Carlos Rodón bounced back from a tough outing in Baltimore last week. He allowed two runs and seven hits in 6 1/3 innings, receiving applause from the home crowd.
For the Astros, Kyle Tucker and Jeremy Peña also hit home runs, but it wasn’t enough to avoid their fourth consecutive loss as they fell to a 12-24 record.
Soto got things started early with a two-run homer in the first inning, hitting a 440-foot drive off a fastball from Houston rookie Spencer Arrighetti, marking his 10th home run of the season.
