NEWS: Coventry City confirm players leaving at the end of 2023/24 season
Coventry City Football Club can confirm the players who will be leaving the Sky Blues following the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.

As previously announced, captain Liam Kelly will leave the Club following an illustrious spell with the Sky Blues since 2017 in which he played 180 games and scored 3 goals.

Kelly joined City in the summer of 2017 and was an integral part of the side that won promotion in the 2018 League Two Play-Off Final.

As the Sky Blues moved to League One he became captain during the 2018/19 season. The 2019/20 campaign would see Kelly famously lead the Club to the League One title.

As we established ourselves in the Championship, Kelly remained a key figure at the Club. He returned to starting line-up at the end of the 2022/23 season to lead the Club to the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off Final, only missing out on a place in the Premier League due to a penalty shoot-out defeat. This season, Kelly featured in both the league and cup, with the Sky Blues reaching the FA Cup Semi-Final.

Liam has been a hugely popular and influential figure at the Club, both on and off the pitch, over many years. Admired by fellow players, staff and supporters, he leaves with the best wishes of everyone and with a huge record of achievements that will see him rightly considered a Club legend.

Goalkeeper Simon Moore, who joined the Sky Blues in 2021 from Sheffield United, has also been released. Over the last three seasons, he played 46 games in all competitions for Coventry City.

Under-21s players Dermi Lusala and Bradley Stretton will also leave the Club.

Dermi featured on the bench for the first-team on a number of occasions and was part of the Under-21 side that reached the Birmingham Senior Cup Final in 2022/23.

Meanwhile, Stretton has been a regular with the Under-18s and then Under-21s in recent years and, after touring with the first team in Portugal, he netted in a senior pre-season friendly win over MK Dons.

Luis Binks will return to parent club Bologna after spending the entire campaign with City. He made 23 appearances in all competitions.
