Crystal Palace eye move for Maxence Lacroix.
Crystal Palace will look to bolster their squad in the summer transfer window and adding a defender is a top priority for them.
According to a report from the Sunday Mirror (5 May, page 66), the Eagles are ready to back their new manager, Oliver Glasner, in the summer transfer window.
Glasner has made a positive impact already and has taken Palace to Premier League safety, picking up some important wins.
Palace are keen to sign Wolfsburg’s French centre-back Maxence Lacroix. The defender has confirmed that he has already been in contact with Glasner. The Eagles boss knows the 24-year-old very well, having managed him at Wolfsburg.
The Eagles are also in the race to sign West Ham defender Ben Johnson and Leicester’s Wilfred Ndidi.
Lacroix has impressed heavily in the Bundesliga this season. He has made 26 appearances in the league, scoring four goals.
Maxence Lacroix – potential replacement for Marc Guehi?
The summer window is going to be crucial for the Eagles. After a disastrous spell under Roy Hodgson, the Eagles are looking to move in a fresh direction in a new project under Glasner.
We have seen already that Glasner is the kind of manager who loves to play an exciting brand of football. To implement his ideas and philosophy properly, he needs the right set of players, and it appears that Crystal Palace are looking to back him in the market.
Some of the Crystal Palace players could be targeted by big clubs in the Premier League, and it will be interesting to see how they respond. Marc Guehi is one of those players who could be on the move in the summer window.
A host of Premier League clubs are looking to sign him, and Palace are expected to command a high transfer fee for the England defender. Lacroix could be seen as his potential replacement.
Palace host Manchester United in the Premier League at Selhurst Park on Monday night.
