There’s Never Been A Doubt In My Mind” New York Jets Rookie QB Jordan Travis Confident He Will Bounce Back From College Injury
The New York Jets took a gamble when they drafted quarterback Jordan Travis with the 171st overall pick in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Travis has been exceptional over his collegiate career but unfortunately for the 24-year-old gunslinger, his 2023 season was cut short after suffering to broken leg.
The Jets have a terrible record when it comes to drafting signal-callers but Travis could be the man to change all that. The Florida State star was electric during the 2022 season and followed that up with 2023 season where he finished with 2756 passing yards and 20 touchdowns. He is currently in a rehab program as he looks to work his way back to fitness, but if Travis can stay healthy, the Jets have a rising star on their hands.
“I feel great. Just focusing on today,” Travis said per NFL.com. “Every day I got rehab I’m just giving my best. I’m just trying to get ready as fast as possible. Obviously, that’s the goal, but obviously I want to be 100 percent too.”
Asked about his health and eventually recovering to make a mark as a full time quarterback in the league, Travis was confident about the future.
“I love waking up every single day and having to make a choice. It just makes the story a whole lot cooler. There’s never been a doubt in my mind,” added Travis.
The young players enters a quarterback room littered with talent with four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers leading the way. The Jets will be patient with him and Travis is in a great position to learn from one of the league’s best as he continues his recovery.
