After going unselected in the 2024 NFL Draft, Maryland safety Beau Brade will stay local. He signed with the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday as an undrafted free agent.

A former three-star recruit, the Clarksville, Md. native rapidly progressed into one of the most productive players on Maryland’s defense. Becoming a full-time starter in his sophomore campaign (2021), he slowly progressed into one of the premier defensive backs in the conference.

In each of his final two seasons, Brade was an All-Big Ten honorable mention. His 152 total tackles — 107 solo — since his junior year led the Terps during that span.

“[Brade] was a really productive box safety for us and took a majority of the reps in that position,” Terps safety coach Zac Spavital said.

Listed at 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds, Brade had his most productive season this past year. He recorded three interceptions, 14 pass deflections and three forced fumbles while leading the defense as a team captain.

At the NFL scouting combine, Brade — once projected to be selected as early as the second round — earned a score of 63, which ranked No. 17 among safeties.
