‘Don’t see any reason’ – EFL boss has say on Lincoln City transfer links Was Delayed Due To Recent Happenings
Blackpool’s full-back has been linked with a switch to fellow League One club Lincoln City this summer, as per reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon page.
Lawrence-Gabriel, 25, still has another year left on his contract at Bloomfield Road.
Critchely has said, as per a report by the Blackpool Gazette: “He loves being at Blackpool, he’s contracted for next season and beyond, and in both of our opinions I don’t see any reason why that would change. When a player is not in the team, he’s not happy, and I wouldn’t expect him to be happy- I say to the players all of the time, I can only pick 11 every week.”
Lincoln City links addressed by Blackpool boss
Lawrence-Gabriel has made 26 appearances in all competitions this season, 19 of which have come in the league.
He hasn’t been a regular starter for Bla
ckpool and they would have a decision to make regarding his future if a bid came in from elsewhere.
Lincoln City could see him as someone to bolster their defensive department ahead of the next campaign. However, the fact he still has another 12 months left on his deal mean they would need to fork out a transfer fee if they were to get him.
He played for Arsenal and Southend United as a youngster before linking up with Nottingham Forest.
The Londoner went on to play seven times for the Reds’ first-team during his time at the City Ground, as well as having loan spells away at Scunthorpe United and Blackpool to get some experience under his belt.
He was then snapped up by the latter on a permanent basis in 2021 and has been with them since.
Lawrence-Gabriel has stayed out with the Tangerines this term despite their relegation from the Championship last year.
Both Blackpool and Lincoln City remain in the race for the top six ahead of the final day this weekend and they face Reading away and Portsmouth at home respectively.
