Coventry City fans reacts to Manchester United win, he’s fuming with one aspect with The Resignation

Manchester United supporters are pleased to reach the FA Cup final, however, it was not a performance cherish.

Celebrations were muted at full-time as Manchester United defeated Coventry City on penalties.

The team let a 3-0 lead slip to 3-3, and it was almost one of the most humiliating results of all-time, with Coventry scoring in the 120th minute.

The goal was ruled out for offside, narrowly. It was a ‘get out of jail card’ Manchester United barely deserved.

United won 4-2 on penalties, with goalkeeper Andre Onana coming through in a key moment.

Coventry City's Premier League dream over after penalty despair

As a football fan, you have to empathise with Coventry City’s heartbreak. The Championship side lost on penalties in the play-off final last season.

They were agonisingly close to the one of the biggest cup upsets of all time, and without VAR, would be celebrating right now.

One high profile Coventry City supporter is Richard Keys, former Sky Sports presenter, now on BeIN Sports.

He shared his reaction at full-time on X, and blasted VAR for the goal-ruining verdict, which was ruled offside.

Keys posted: “Proud of you boys @Coventry_City And all you guys who turned Wembley Sky Blue.

“Congrats to Utd. Sadly the technology just ruined one of the greatest Cup stories of all time at a time when the FA Cup desperately needed one.”

How Coventry City’s manager reacted
Coventry City manager Mark Robins expressed his annoyance with the VAR goal when quizzed post-match.

He told ITV: “It’s a toe nail. Those lines are the bane of our life. You don’t get a chance often to go to an FA Cup final and we were really really close.

“To come back from 3-0 down is incredible. Some good quality football. We were really disappointed at the end.

“You get to penalties and it’s a lottery. You don’t hold anything against anyone if they show the courage to take one in a cauldron.”

Manchester United supporters will only have admiration for the way Coventry played.

As for our own team, well, safe to say there is a lot of annoyance…
