Liam Rosenior makes exciting Hull City transfer claim on eve of must-win Watford clash
The Tigers’ recruitment has captured the imagination over the course of the season
Hull City head coach Liam Rosenior admits he’d love to keep his squad together beyond the end of this season, irrespective of what league the Tigers find themselves in. City have four games left and are chasing a place in the Championship’s play-off with the Tigers sitting six points behind six-placed Norwich City, but do have a game in hand at Coventry City on Wednesday.
No matter whether City find themselves in the Premier League or Championship, big changes will again come this summer with Tyler Morton, Fabio Carvalho, Anass Zaroury, Tyler Morton, Liam Delap and Noah Ohio set to return to their parent clubs while the likes of Cyrus Christie, Greg Docherty and Adama Traore are out of contract and the club have the option to convert Ryan Giles’ loan move from Luton Town into a permanent one.
All six loan players have had a positive impact on City’s fine season in various ways with striker Delap and owner Acun Ilicali both serenaded by supporters during the 3-0 win over QPR on Saturday making clear their wish to see the Manchester City loanee remain next term.
Whether or not that is possible remains to be seen of course, but Rosenior is desperate to see his side secure a play-off berth and keep alive the potential of promotion to the Premier League, and therefore, a greater chance to keep the likes of Morton, Delap and Carvalho.
“Any of those players that are in that group, I’d love to work with them longer than this season, whether that’s Jaden, Greavesy, Liam, Tyler, Fabio, but I love working with them, and that goes for every single one of those players that are in our squad,” Rosenior told Hull Live on the eve of Saturday’s must-win trip to Watford.
