Brighton move into signing picture after Stoke City made offer for player.
Brighton & Hove Albion are in the picture to sign KVC Westerlo’s Emin Bayram, after Stoke City made an effort, according to a report from Turkey.
The defender joined the Jupiler Pro League side from Galatasaray on loan last summer and this move has clearly worked out in his favour.
Bayram has been a regular at Westerlo this season and Brighton have taken notice of his performances, as per Sabah.
The report says the 21-year-old has had a ‘successful season’ in Belgium and that has ‘attracted the attention’ of the Seagulls.
Stoke City made an offer for the centre-back at the start of the season and it’s explained that another English club, Brighton, have added him to their transfer target list.
It won’t be easy for Roberto De Zerbi’s side to sign the Turkey U21 international in the summer as Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk is planning to include him in his plans.
Bayram’s current deal with the Istanbul club lasts until 2026 and they continue to trust him, which is why Galatasaray didn’t provide Westerlo an option or obligation to make his stay permanent.
Brighton have to find a way to convince Bayram and Galatasaray if they want to bring him to The Amex.
