Exeter City boss Gary Caldwell has said they want to ‘keep’ Hull City loan man Ryan Woods.

Exeter City swooped to land the midfielder on a temporary basis in the January transfer window on a deal until the end of the season.

Woods, 30, spent the first-half of this campaign at fellow League One side Bristol Rovers.

Caldwell has said, as per a report by DevonLive: “We want to keep him next year. There is a lot to go through for that, contractual situations, but Ryan knows how much we think of him and appreciate what he has done for the club.”

Woods still has another year left on his contract at Hull but has fallen out of favour at the MKM Stadium, hence why he has been allowed to leave them twice this term.

The Tigers signed him on a three-year deal back in 2022 and he made 27 appearances for them in all competitions during his first year.

However, he slipped down the pecking order behind the likes of Jean Michael Seri, Tyler Morton, Regan Slater and Greg Docherty.

Woods played 16 times for Bristol Rovers after linking up with the Gas in late August and has now made 11 outings for Exeter since his winter switch.
