Omur’s impression as Hull City secure one of their biggest wins yet in play-off quest.
Two more goals for Fabio Carvalho help the Tigers to deserved away day success.
Just when they needed it most, Hull City pulled out a convincing performance and result to ease past Cardiff City 3-1 to breathe fresh life into what had started to look like a flagging play-off chase.
After six games without a win and successive defeats, Liam Rosenior’s men knew there was zero room for error and that feeling was only compounded before kick-off when news filtered through that Norwich had beaten Ipswich to strengthen their grip on sixth place.
Rotherham in February ensured the Tigers claimed their first success since winning in Southampton in late February. Now, the challenge for City is to produce this type of result in front of their own supporters.
One of the biggest yet
There have been some important victories throughout this season for varying reasons, but this was right up there with the most poignant. So many questions asked, six games without a win, their play-off hopes hanging by a thread and Norwich winning before the game.
Rosenior’s men delivered a performance, and a result to answer some of those questions and get back to winning ways. The only way they can topple the Canaries is by winning games and hoping David Wagner’s men slip up. If that does happen, City need to make sure they’re there to take full advantage.
