Hull City player ratings as Fabio Carvalho steals the show in Cardiff City triumph.

The Tigers returned to winning ways in their must-win contest in South Wales.

Hull City secured the three points at Cardiff City which keeps their season alive after a dominant and deserved 3-1 victory in South Wales.

City were two goals to the good at the break courtesy of Fabio Carvalho’s double. His first a well-struck volley through a crowd of players from Omur’s corner, and his second on the stroke of the interval after a fine passing move.

Karlan Grant dragged the hosts back into the contest early in the second half but City were straight back up the other end to restore parity when Jaden Philogene raced clear to score past Ethan Horvath and ensure the Tigers won for the first time in seven games.

Here’s how Tigers reporter Barry Cooper rated the players in deepest South Wales on Saturday afternoon….

Ryan Allsop: Lovely takedown from Slater’s thump back was a highlight, and also made a smart stop at his near post to deny Collins. Beaten at this near post by Grant’s strike. 6/10

Matty Jacob: A couple of rocky moments early on when Bowler skinned him and then gave away a soft corner, but a decent display thereafter. 7/10

Jacob Greaves: Back in the side after missing Easter and headed wide from Omur’s corner inside a minute before easing Miete out at the other end straight away – back in the thick of it. Powered two superb headers away from corners just after the opening goal. 8/10
