It was another disappointing game for designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton.

Hitting cleanup, the veteran slugger went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts on Friday.

His season line dropped to .125/.160/.292.

While he has a double and a home run, his plate discipline has been abysmal: one walk and 13 strikeouts.

Fans are starting to lose patience, and manager Aaron Boone had to stand up for his player during the postgame press conference.

To be fair, only a week has passed since the season started.

There is a lot of ground to cover, and things can change if Stanton ever gets into a rhythm.

Fans, however, still have his horrible 2023 performance in mind and are afraid he can’t right the ship.
