Houston Texans Finalizing Trade For Bills Star Stefon Diggs.
The Texans made a major move on Wednesday, trading for Buffalo Bills star receiver Stefon Diggs.
HOUSTON – The Houston Texans are all in.
According to reports from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Texans are finalizing a trade with the Buffalo Bills that would send star wide receiver Stefon Diggs to Houston in exchange for draft compensation.
The Texans will be sending a 2025 second-round pick back to Buffalo in the deal, with the Bills sending a 2025 fifth-round and sixth-round pick back to Houston with Diggs.
The trade for Diggs comes on the heels of the restructuring of offensive tackle Tytus Howard’s contract – a move that many believed laid the groundwork for the Texans to make a major splash in the trade or free agency markets.
Now, that theory has come to fruition, with Diggs landing in Houston alongside what was already shaping up to be an extremely dangerous offense.
When completed, the deal will give the Texans one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL, with rookie sensation C.J. Stroud at the helm quarterback, Joe Mixon at running back, Brevin Jordan and Dalton Schultz at tight end, and the young duo of Nico Collins and Tank Dell as the other receivers.
Diggs started his career as a fifth-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings out of Maryland in the 2015 NFL Draft. Over the next four years in Minneapolis, Diggs developed into one of the NFL’s top pass catchers, hauling in 365 catches for 4,621 yards and 30 scores over five seasons.
Diggs was then sent to Buffalo in a trade in 2020, where he took his game to yet another level, catching 445 passes for 5,372 yards and 37 scores in four seasons.
Diggs has been so good, in fact, that he earned a First-Team All-Pro nod in 2020, Second-Team All-Pro in 2022, and made four Pro Bowls – all with the Bills. In fact, in 2020, he led the NFL in both receptions and receiving yards.
Now, all that talent is coming to Houston, where he will be paired with one of the most exciting young quarterbacks in today’s NFL – one that is now fully equipped to challenge for a Super Bowl in 2024.
