Saidou Khan joins Swindon Town - News - Swindon Town

Wrexham were linked with a swoop for Swindon Town midfielder Saidou Khan earlier this season.

Wrexham reportedly looked into a deal for the fellow League Two man ahead of the January transfer window, as per a report by Football Insider.

Khan, 28, ended up staying put at the County Ground behind the deadline earlier this winter.

However, it is probably a good job that the Red Dragons didn’t sign him in the end as he is now ruled out for the rest of the season through injury.

Wrexham’s winter target ‘plagued’ with injury
Swindon’s interim boss Gavin Gunning has recently told the Swindon Advertiser: “Saidou Khan is out for the season. I know the fans have been getting on at his [Khan’s] performances, but he has been plagued with this injury for a little while and he has played on and you can see it has affected his performances massively.”

Khan joined the Robins in 2022 after spells at Tooting & Mitcham, Maidstone United and Chesterfield in non-league.

He has been a regular for the Wiltshire outfit in the middle of the park since then and has made 70 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with two goals and four assists.

His injury is a shame for both him and Swindon and hopefully he can return back strong for next term.

The Gambia-born man would have given Wrexham more competition and depth in midfield. However, he would have faced a real battle to get into their starting XI ahead of the likes of Andy Cannon and Tom O’Connor.
