Enzo Maresca makes “perfect” Leicester City admission despite Leeds United success.

The Foxes are in the ideal situation despite Leeds’ recent success, according to Maresca.

Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca believes his side are in a “perfect situation” in the automatic promotion race despite their recent wobble, speaking to the Foxes’ media team.

It previously looked as though the Midlands club would win the Championship title by a considerable margin, but things haven’t quite worked out that way for them.

Results haven’t gone their way in recent times – and with Leeds United going unbeaten in the league in 2024 – the Whites have climbed above the Foxes in the league table.

Ipswich Town have also managed to get some valuable points on the board in recent times and with this, Leicester are under a considerable amount of pressure at the moment.

They do have a game in hand over both the Whites and the Tractor Boys, but the Foxes aren’t in a very strong place at this point, with the momentum now against them.

It will take a lot for them to steer themselves back in the right direction – but they certainly have the potential to do that.

Maresca on Leicester City in the automatic promotion race: “We just need to finish well”

The Italian will be under a huge amount of pressure to win automatic promotion, especially with a points sanction potentially on the way.

But he is staying calm, at least on the outside, saying: “It’s a difficult league but the league that we belong to, so we need to adapt. We probably need around 100 points to get promoted this year, which has never happened in the past.
