Liam Rosenior is relishing the final full month of the Championship season

Dose of realism crucial for ambitious Hull City boss Liam Rosenior

The Tigers start their descent into the summer with two big games over the Easter weekend.

Hull City boss Liam Rosenior and his players are heading into unchartered territory in the final nine games of a Championship season that could see them etched into the pantheon of Tigers legends if they go all the way and secure promotion to the Premier League.

City are a place outside the top six but do have a game in hand over in-form Norwich and face two games over this pivotal Easter weekend, with the first coming this afternoon against Stoke City in front of a sold-out MKM Stadium, before making the short journey to Elland Road to take on leaders Leeds United on Easter Monday evening.

All focus from within the dressing room is on the Tigers overthrowing the Canaries and securing that final play-off berth. While there is an element of pressure from within, the City boss is keen to make the most of the opportunity lying in their wait.

Not since 2015/16 have a City side threatened to finish so high in the football pyramid and we all know what happened at the end of that season, so Rosenior has urged the club to not only make the most of the chance but enjoy the ride.

“And that’s why, for myself as a manager this is new for me,” he said. “I love it. This is what I’ve always wanted. I’ve always wanted to be a manager. I want to be a successful manager for sure, so to see all of the hard work that we’ve done over pretty much the last 18 months, how we’ve built this club from where it was; the recruitment, the identity and the style of the team. It was all for this moment. We’ve made it to this moment, so now let’s enjoy it,” the Tigers boss told Hull Live.
