Archie Gray reacts to major Leeds United news coming out of Elland Road
Leeds United have confirmed that centre-back Pascal Struijk has undergone surgery on an adductor injury that has kept him out of the side since Boxing Day.
With eight games remaining for Leeds in the quest for automatic promotion, the last thing the Whites need is an injury crisis ahead of the busy Easter weekend.
The run of 12 wins in 2024 has come despite the fact that talismanic defender Pascal Struijk has been sitting out since an adductor injury flared up at the end of 2023.
Pascal Struijk out for the season – Confirmed
An adductor injury that didn’t appear to be too big of an issue for Leeds’ captain for the majority of the season up to that point, but he remained out ever since scoring in the 2-1 Boxing Day defeat to Preston.
Daniel Farke confirmed on Wednesday in his pre-match press conference that the defender would be out for the rest of the season after undergoing “complicated” surgery on the matter (via LUFC):
Struijk will now be set to return for Leeds in the summer when pre-season commences, watching on from the sidelines.
