Analyst Makes Bold Prediction About Brandon Aiyuk’s Future
The San Francisco 49ers have a decision to make with WR Brandon Aiyuk.
He’s coming off the best season of his career, earning second-team All-Pro honors, and he’s not satisfied with his current role with the team.
Aiyuk and his camp’s social media activity made it loud and clear that he would much rather be somewhere else.
That’s why some think he’s going to get traded at some point.
Nonetheless, that list of people doesn’t include NFL analyst Craig Carton.
“San Francisco signs everybody and they figure it out,” Carton said.
Talking on the latest edition of his show, he claimed that the Niners would figure out a way to get all their impending free agents under contract, so he’s not going anywhere.
He thinks the narrative of teams not being able to keep all their guys is false, adding that the Niners won’t allow a talent like him to walk away.
Still, that might not be the case.
Aiyuk is a very good player who could gauge an interesting return in any potential trade.
But as good as he is, he’s not a better player than George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, or Christian McCaffrey, at least not at this point in his career.
That’s why his chances of getting on top of them in the pecking order are as slim as their chances of keeping all of them under contract with the big-money deals they’re going to get, so this might be Aiyuk’s final season in the Bay area.
