Dodgers Appear to Finalize Bullpen in Advance of Freeway Series
The Los Angeles Dodgers have optioned three pitchers before the start of their freeway series against the Los Angeles Angeles on Sunday. According to Jack Harris, Dodgers beat writer from the Los Angeles Times, Landon Knack, Gus Varland, and JP Feyereisen were optioned to Triple-A.
These three right-handed pitchers were on the Dodgers’ official 26-man roster for the Seoul Series against the San Diego Padres. With this move, all signs point to the bullpen being set with the pitchers Harris mentioned in his tweet above.
Only Feyereisen and Varland pitched in the two-game series to open the 2024 campaign. Feyereisen pitched one inning, allowing three hits, three earned runs, and one strikeout in 23 pitches and 12 strikes. As for Varland, he only tossed two pitches, both of which went for strikes.
Knack has alternated between the minors and the majors this spring training. He was recently recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City just in time for the Seoul series due to Blake Treinen
beginning the year on the injured list. If he is ever brought back up, he will likely be used out of the bullpen in a multi-inning option.
The moves leave little suspense for the Dodgers’ Opening Day roster, which is only six days away
