Chakvetadze and ex-Watford captain set for Euro play-off finals
Giorgi Chakvetadze is one more win away from being part of Georgian football history after his nation secured their place in a play-off final for the European Championships after beating Luxembourg 2-0 in Tbilisi.
Starting on the left of the front three, the Watford attacker helped his side try and make the breakthrough which came five minutes before the break when Budu Zivzivadze struck.
The second half started in controversial fashion when Gerson Rodrigues looked to have equalised in the 53rd minute.
However, the goal was ruled out following a lengthy VAR review for an earlier foul just outside the Luxembourg penalty area by defender Maxime Chanot – who was shown a red card for tripping Georgia forward Georges Mikautadze.

A goal up and now with a player advantage, Georgia made sure of their place in the Path C final when Zivzivadze netted his second just after the hour.
Georgia will now return to the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena on Tuesday to face Greece, who thumped Kazakhstan 5-0, as they bid to secure a first appearance in a major finals.
Former Watford captain Robert Page is also one more win away from booking a flight to Germany this summer after his Wales side beat Finland 4-1.
Midfielder David Brooks, on loan at Southampton from Bournemouth, fired Wales into an early lead and Nottingham Forest full-back Neco Williams clipped in a well-worked free-kick at the edge of the area to make it 2-0 seven minutes before half-time.
Finland pulled a goal back ahead of the break through Teemu Pukki.
Wales restored their advantage at the start of the second half through Tottenham forward Brennan Johnson.
