Everton Are Monitoring The Progress Of This Sunderland Starlet, As Sunderland Have Reached Agreement Over The Wonderkid
Everton are monitoring the progress of Sunderland starlet Oli Bainbridge as they look to strengthen their squad for the long run.
In a recent report on Patreon, journalist Alan Nixon mentioned that Everton are monitoring the progress of Sunderland starlet Oli Bainbridge. It has been claimed that the Toffees are keeping tabs on the English full-back ahead of a potential move in the summer.
Bainbridge’s Impressive Rise In English Football
The 18-year-old has come through the youth ranks of Sunderland but is still waiting for his first taste of first-team football. Bainbridge has done well to establish himself as a key performer for Sunderland’s Under-23 team.
The gifted teenager has made 14 appearances for Sunderland’s U-23 side so far, picking up one assist in the process across various competitions. He is currently amongst the best young full-backs in English football.
Bainbridge is under contract at Sunderland until the summer of 2025 which could open the door for the Toffees to sign him on the cheap later this year.
Everton Are Monitoring The Progress Of Bainbridge: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Bainbridge is a good tackler of the ball and usually works hard for his team on the defensive end of the field. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot. The English prospect can also set up a few meaningful chances for his teammates from the left flank. He can even shoot the ball with power from long range when he is playing well on the pitch.
However, at 18, Bainbridge is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth in senior football. Still, there is no denying that he is a talent to watch out for in the future. Thus, Everton head coach Sean Dyche will do well to bring him to Goodison Park at the end of this campaign.
Bainbridge has managed to shine in the youth levels of English football. However, he has still not made a senior appearance for Sunderland. Therefore, Dyche would have to be patient with his development before he can unlock the best out of the youngster at the Merseyside club.
With all things considered, Everton should focus on going all out to sign Bainbridge on the cheap in the summer transfer period as he would be a great signing for them in the long run.
