Liam Rosenior: Hull City boss says return to the club as head coach gave him goosebumps - BBC Sport

Hull City boss Liam Rosenior has had his say on the interest in staying with the Team But The Fans Denies It, in an interview with Hull Live Today

Hull City look to be strong contenders for a place in the top six. With nine games left to play between now and the end of the season they sit 7th in the table and are level on points with Norwich City in 6th

Rosenior’s side have now drawn four games in a row however, and will look to get back to winning ways when they face strugglers Stoke City this weekend.

Their consistent form across the campaign has been in part due to the sensational performances from key duo Philogene and Greaves. Their success on the pitch has seen them linked with moves to Premier League sides of late.

Philogene is reportedly being tracked by Tottenham Hotspur, whilst Greaves is attracting interest from Everton. Speaking to Hull Live, Rosenior spoke out about the duo and the swirling rumours linking them with a summer exit.

“Those players are really, really good players, they’re improving all the time,” he said.

“I think they’re developing and I want them here with me for as long as possible.”

Moves away from Hull City seem inevitable

Should Hull City not secure promotion to the Premier League this season, it seems inevitable that both Philogene and Greaves will move on to pastures new. If a club comes calling from the top flight they could depart.

Of course, bids for both players will have to come in and either match or exceed the Tigers’ valuation of the duo. But should this happen then they will be able to reinvest in their squad with the money made from sales to help them go again and try to achieve promotion.

Greaves’ potential departure is certainly one to keep an eye on and could be heavily influenced by another transfer saga. Everton signing Greaves could all hinge on Manchester United’s pursuit of Toffees defender Jarrad Branthwaite, and so Hull City will have one eye on this possible deal in the coming weeks and months.

Hull City have more ground to make up in the race for the play-offs after today’s Championship results. Norwich City have tightened their grip on sixth position after recording a 3-0 win at Stoke City.

Josh Sargent and Gabriel Sara netted in the first half to put the Canaries in control. Veteran forward Ashley Barnes wrapped up the victory by grabbing a third on the hour mark.
