Texas Longhorns Sensational Ace Signed to Cincinnati Reds To A Four Year Deal Aim At Strengthening The Squad
The Cincinnati Reds are taking on the Kansas City Royals today with Nick Lodolo on the mound making his second start of the spring, in his first start he got the win going two innings and didn’t allow a run, a hit, or a walk and he struck out one only throwing nine pitches. The Texas Longhorns are getting set to take on the Washington Huskies at the Disch and they are expected to have Lebarron Johnson Jr on the mound making his fifth start of the season, he is 1-1 with a 3.54 ERA, a 1.33 WHIP, and 23 strikeouts in 20.1 innings. A former Longhorn has been assigned to the Cincinnati Reds today ahead of their game against the Royals, it remains to be seen when or if he will see any game action in Goodyear, AZ and that is Trey Faltine.
Faltine in his first season at Texas played in 17 games and he hit .259 with a .362 OPS; he had three doubles, one home run, seven RBI, 12 runs scored, two stolen bases, and six walks. In his second season, he played in 66 games and hit .249 with a .775 OPS; he had 18 doubles, five home runs, 37 RBI, 51 runs scored, seven stolen bases, and 35 walks. In his final season, he played in 69 games and hit .282 with a .945 OPS; he had 18 doubles, one triple, 15 home runs, 56 RBI, 60 runs scored, six stolen bases, and 33 walks.
He got drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the seventh round of the 2022 MLB draft. In 2022 after being drafted he played for the Reds rookie league team and Single-A Daytona in 22 games he hit .246 with a .801 OPS; he had six doubles, one home run, ten RBI, 13 runs scored, one stolen base, and 15 walks. Last season he made the jump to High-A Dayton playing in 64 games and he hit .103 with a .411 OPS; he had three doubles, three home runs, 13 RBI, 16 runs scored, four stolen bases, and 20 walks.
