Midfield dynamo Jack Rudoni is determined to finish the 2023/24 season strongly as Huddersfield Town look to stave off the threat of relegation

Huddersfield Town midfielder Jack Rudoni has expressed confidence that he will “play at the highest level” at some point in his career.

The 22-year-old is currently in his second season with Town at Championship level, having joined the club from AFC Wimbledon in the summer of 2022.

Rudoni spent a brief time in Crystal Palace’s youth setup before leaving to join the Dons in 2011, where he came through the academy to break into their first-team setup

Although immediately tasked with helping his side to secure their Championship status, Rudoni has his sights set on playing in the Premier League in the future.

“That’s the aim for everyone here, we want to take the club higher, and personally I believe we can, and I always believe in myself,” the midfielder told Sky Sports.

“I think if you believe you can achieve, so I feel like with that mindset, I don’t see that anything can stop me from getting where I want to get to.

“I set myself the highest of standards, and I want to achieve everything in football, everything I can, and play at the highest level.

“I completely believe I can, and I’ll just keep working hard every single day to try and improve and better myself as a player and person, and I believe that will eventually take me to where I need to get to.”

Rudoni was an ever-present for Town last season, featuring in all 46 of their Championship matches. So far, he has chalked up 29 appearances so far this term.

The midfielder has found the back of the net more often this season, having netted twice in the 2022-23 campaign but five times to date this time around. The 22-year-old is pleased with his performances so far this term, but the midfielder is eager to keep improving.

“I’m quite happy with how I’ve been doing, I think there’s always more I can do,” Rudoni said. “I’ve added goals to my game this season, and hopefully [there’s] more to come until the end of the season.

“Overall, I’m happy with how I’ve done. I’ve just got to keep performing well, keep trying to get as many goals and assists as I can to help the team, and hopefully that will help us get out of the situation that we’re in.

“I think it’s just finding my composure a bit more (why he’s netted more goals this season), getting into the better areas to score, but I’ve always kind of got into the areas, I just [didn’t] put them away last year.

“Even this year, I look back and I could probably have had 15 goals by now. That’s something that I’m constantly working on on the training pitch, and mentally as well behind the scenes, working on composure and visualising and stuff like that, to help me get more goals.
