The Houston Astros are hoping to get back to the World Series in 2024.

Last season, they came up one game shy of making the Fall Classic.

Losing Game 7 of the ALCS at home to the Texas Rangers had to leave a sour taste in their mouth.

But, the Astros are coming back this season with a vengeance.

They have a new manager after the retirement of Dusty Baker, but most of their players remain the same.

Unfortunately, one of their top pitchers will not be able to begin the season on the active roster.

That is legendary starter Justin Verlander, who will begin the season on the injured list.

According to B/R Walk-Off, Verlander will begin the season on the IL with a shoulder issue.

Some people think Verlander’s days as a dominant starter are over.

He is 41 years old and his best years are behind him.

But, every time we have seen him on the mound he has been good.

Maybe he does not throw as hard as he once did, but he is still effective at getting hitters out.

Losing Verlander is a blow to the Astros’ starting rotation.

But, some fans can think the Astros should go sign Blake Snell

Snell is the reigning NL Cy Young winner and for some reason is still without a team.

He could help take the Astros up another level and back into being possible AL favorites.

Verlander returning as soon as possible is what most fans are hoping for
