McCann looking for continued road improvements at Walsall
Grant McCann is hopeful Rovers can continue their improvement on the road as they travel to face the division’s form team Walsall.
Rovers have taken a win and two draws from their last three away matches ahead of the visit to a Walsall side that have won four consecutive games.
“I think we’ve picked up away from home and looked a bit stronger over the last three or four games that we’ve been on the road,” McCann said.
“We want to finish the season strongly. This is the next one for us – probably the form team in the division.
“It’ll be a tough game. It’s always tough at the Bescot. It’s a tight stadium and the pitch can look tighter on the eye.
“It seems like they’ve got it going there, they’re strong at home and we know it’ll be a tough game.”
McCann is understandably expecting a difficult challenge, with Walsall racing into play-off contention over the last month.
“I feel like Walsall are doing very well and playing with a lot of confidence,” he said.
“I watched them a couple of Tuesday nights ago at home to Morecambe. Lee Glover watched them on Tuesday night against Accrington.
“They’re confident, strong, a threat at set plays. They play with good energy, they’ve got players with good energy if you’re not on your guard. We know all about them.
“But again, this game will be about what we can do. We can go there and put a plan in place to get another three points.
“That’s what we’ve been trying to do all week and let’s see if we can do it again.”
