Dodgers Free Agent Infielder’s Market ‘Heating Up’: Report
Former Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Kolten Wong is garnering a ton of interest from MLB teams following the free agent market picking up.
As spring training ramps up, teams are looking for an infielder, and with Wong still on the open market, teams are looking his way.
The veteran is coming off an impressive 20-game stint with the Dodgers at the end of the 2023 season. The 33-year-old slashed .300/.353/.500 with a .853 OPS, two home runs and eight RBIs in 30 ABs. He was incredible for the Boys in Blue, so much so that he even made the National League Division Series roster against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Wong heading back to Los Angeles is a long shot due to the stacked roster the Dodgers already possess. Nonetheless, there’s a spot out there for Wong, and he should be able to find a team anytime soon now.
The two-time gold glove winner spent most of his career with the St. Louis Cardinals from 2013 to 2020. After that, he’s bounced around between the Milwaukee Brewers, Seattle Mariners and the Dodgers.
Wong has shown he could still be a viable piece for any team in the league. He found his groove back in Los Angeles. We’ll see if it translates with his new team, wherever that may be.
