Angels Postgame: Halos Can’t Overcome Slow Start, Drop Game to Reds
The Los Angeles Angels got off to a slow start against the Cincinnati Reds today, dropping the game by a score of 9-4. Cincinnati got out to an 8-0 lead after five innings before the Halos put two runs up in the sixth.
It was an ugly pitching performance from Alan Rangel, who allowed five runs and six hits in two innings. The Angels starter, Kenny Rosenberg, allowed one run and three huts over two innings.
Designated hitter Miguel Sanó went 0-2 with one run scored in his debut with the Angels. He signed a minor-league deal with the team earlier in the winter but had his year delayed due to a visa issue.
Mickey Moniak went 0-1, Jo Adell went 0-2, and Nelson Rada walked in their plate appearances. It was a tough day for the Angels all around.
The team also lost their other split-squad game to the Kansas City Royals by a score of 1-0. The Halos now sit with a record of 0-2-1 in their first three spring training games.
Up next for the Angels is a matchup with the San Francisco Giants tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 12:05 pm PT from Scottsdale Stadium.
