Sky Sports commentator blown away by what Fabio Carvalho did for Hull City today
It has been a good week for on-loan Liverpool youngster Fabio Carvalho at Hull City.
Carvalho has been lauded by Hull manager Liam Rosenior ever since arriving at the KC Stadium after a failed spell at Leipzig in January. But up until Tuesday, the 21-year-old had just one goal for the Tigers to his name.
Then, Carvalho struck against Southampton midweek. And today, the Portugal U21 star smashed in a second goal in as many games with a quite magnificent effort against West Brom.
As seen by Sky Sports Football on X, Carvalho’s goal was really quite special. Picking the ball up on the corner of the box, the youngster shifted it onto his right foot and unleashed a pile-driver past the goalkeeper.
“Well, wow!” exclaimed Sky’s co-commentator Don Goodman “That’s all I’ve got. That is stunning.”
Carvalho scores Hull screamer
It’s nice to see Carvalho starting to hit his stride for Hull. After a difficult last 18 months, he has perhaps needed a little time to get his legs under the desk.
But now that he’s been given a regular run in the team, the magic is starting to come back.
Carvalho has now started each of Hull’s last eight Championship matches. Three goals in that time is now a very decent return indeed.
Back during his last turn in England’s second division, Fabio scored 10 goals in 36 games. He obviously won’t play that amount for the Tigers with just 12 games to go, but he’s scoring at a better rate than he did two years ago.
It would be interesting to hear just what Liverpool are making of his time back on Humberside.
