Green Bay Packers Sky Rocket As Favorites To Sign Dallas Cowboys Star

The Green Bay Packers ended the Dallas Cowboys season early this past season in the Wild Card round.  Green Bay became the first ever seven seed to defeat a two seed in the playoffs, and they did it in dominant fashion.

Now the Packers could be in line to sign a Cowboys star for the 2024 season.

The Green Bay Packers Could Be In line To Sign Dallas Cowboys Running Back

Sayre Bedinger of Lombardi Ave highlighted how the Packers could bolster their running back room:Again, you don’t always want to dip into the running back position in NFL free agency, but with the depth of this year’s class as a whole, I wouldn’t be shocked to see the Packers (and other teams) go after some proven players here on short-term deals.

Imagine a running back duo of Aaron Jones and Tony Pollard for Jordan Love to lean on.

We saw this past season that Tony Pollard is worse off when he’s not in a tandem backfield, so sharing the backfield with someone like Aaron Jonescould be beneficial to everyone. I think Pollard’s three-down ability and explosiveness when he’s fully healthy make him an intriguing target, and he could be had for a bargain price given he was coming back from injury during the 2023 season.

The Packers Will Have A New Rushing Attack In 2024

Nearly all of Packers nation is hoping Aaron Jones returns in 2024.  He is not only one of the most beloved players on the team, but the offensive is significantly better with him on the field.

However, it is very possible the team moves on from AJ Dillon as he has yet to prove he could be aa bonafide #1 running back.  Adding Pollard, who is just 26 years old, would not only create another dynamic out of the backfield, but would add longevity to the position.

The stats for Pollard’s 2023 season look fine, with a rushing total of 1,005 yards and a receiving total of 311 yards. This season, however, his efficiency decreased dramatically from 2022. The average yardage he gained on carries in 2023 was just four, down from 5.2 in 2022, while the average yardage he gained on receptions

dropped from 9.5 to 5.7.

Pollard could still be extremely successful in a tandem style backfield, and now, be signed for relatively cheap
