Injury update: Ryan Hedges
John Eustace says Ryan Hedges will have to be assessed after the Welshman was forced off early on in the 1-1 draw against Norwich City on Saturday.
After recently recovering from a serious hamstring injury, Hedges featured in the games against Stoke City, Birmingham City and Preston North End before being rested for the trip to Cardiff City in midweek.
Returning to the team in one of three changes made by Eustace, Hedges lasted just 15 minutes before limping off the field and being replaced by Harry Pickering.
And the boss says he’ll now face an anxious waits to see what diagnosis the scans will give regarding the 28-year-old’s condition.
“Ryan’s a really good player, an exciting player,” Eustace said to RoversTV following the draw.
“We rested him on Tuesday and today was a little bit too much because he has a tight groin.
“We wanted to come off to make sure there was no big problem. I hope he’ll be okay.
“It gives an opportunity for someone else and I thought Picks [Pickering], who came on, was outstanding. It was like he’d never been away.
“We’re very fortunate to have some real good quality in those areas.”
