Burnley predicted team to face Crystal Palace as experienced duo face with another injury blow
Burnley head to the capital this weekend looking to issue a response to last weekend’s heavy defeat to Arsenal.
Vincent Kompany’s men will be looking to bounce back against a Crystal Palace side that are now under new management following Roy Hodgson’s decision to step down at the start of the week.
The experienced boss was swiftly replaced by Austrian Oliver Glasner, who will be in the dugout for the first time this weekend.
Burnley will be without Aaron Ramsey for the rest of the season after the midfielder suffered a serious knee injury during the 5-0 defeat to Arsenal.
He now joins Jordan Beyer, Luca Koleosho, Nathan Redmond and Lyle Foster on the sidelines.
With that in mind, here’s how we think the Clarets might line up at Selhurst Park
The keeper will certainly be hoping for a far less eventful afternoon than Burnley endured against Arsenal last week.
The Eagles are 15th in the Premier League table, only five points ahead of Luton Town. They have picked up only one win in 2024 in the Premier League and the club made the right decision to relieve Hodgson of his duties.
Palace have managed only two wins in their last 14 Premier League games. They are winless in their last three games in the Premier League which shows the situation at the club is far from ideal.
Burnley are almost certain to drop down in the Championship having picked up only 13 points thus far. They have managed only three wins in the Premier League under Vincent Kompany, and are winless in their last seven Premier League games.
This is a good opportunity for Palace to pick up a vital win here, and Sutton thinks they are likely to pick up all three points.
“I really don’t know what to make of Burnley despite being at Turf Moor for their defeat by Arsenal last weekend. That was such a mis-match, but I don’t how damaging a defeat it will prove to be for Vincent Kompany’s side,” said Sutton to BBC Sport.
“The Clarets will stand a much better chance against Palace, but the Eagles are a bit of an unknown quantity in Oliver Glasner’s first game in charge.
“You cannot just switch overnight from one playing style to another, so it is going to take time for Glasner to make a difference, but there should be a positive atmosphere at Selhurst Park and I can see the new manager ‘bounce’ working for them here.”
