Oldham Athletic boss Mellon is prepared to go the distance
Oldham Athletic are preparing to hit the road again for the second time in four days. But after chairman Frank Rothwell spent 64 days crossing the Atlantic, manager Micky Mellon said he and his players could have no complaints about their travel time.
Rothwell is expected to be at York City’s LNER Community Stadium tomorrow night (kick-off 7.45pm) for his first game in three months, after rowing 3,000 and raising almost £300,000 for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
The 73-year-old had a watching brief, via a television in the comfort of his hotel room in Antigua, on Saturday before returning home to Oldham.
