Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who has become their No. 1 target in their passing game, is one year away from becoming a free agent, and they will soon have to give him a contract extension.

In 2022, he crossed the 1,000-yard mark for the first time, and this past season, he put up 1,342 yards while leading San Francisco in both targets and receptions.
If the team ends up losing him one way or another, they would be hard-pressed to replace his production, let alone remain a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
n the other hand, San Francisco is over the salary cap, and not only needs to give Aiyuk an extension soon, but quarterback Brock Purdy and star safety Talanoa Hufanga, who was a Pro Bowl and All-Pro First-Team selection in 2022, will need extensions soon as well.
