Jacob Greaves brace seals huge win in dramatic fashion for Hull City at Huddersfield Town
A 94th minute winner seals a huge, huge win for the Tigers
For the first time since 2013, Hull City claimed three points at Huddersfield Town to give their play-off hopes a real boost with a second successive Yorkshire derby win of the week, and in dramatic fashion.
This 2-1 success will not live long in the memory as a vintage away performance but the significance will not be lost in their quest for promotion, battling hard away from home and gritting out a victory just as they did at Sunderland, but the manner of their win could be huge.
City were in front after just seven minutes when skipper for the day Jacob Greaves angled in a half volley beyond the despairing dive of Lee Nicholls, their first goal at the John Smith’s Stadium in four visits.
Jack Rudoni levelled up from the edge of the box in the third minute of added time to snatch what looked like a point for the hosts, but City roared back to win it when Omur’s cross was met by the diving Greaves to head in beyond Lee Nicholls and sent 2,500 away fans absolutely mental.
Rosenior made one change to his winning side from Tuesday night with Ozan Tufan coming in to replace Lewie Coyle who dropped to the bench, meaning Regan Slater slotted into the right-back role and Tufan coming into midfield. with Billy Sharp once again deployed in the striker role.
