Leeds United squad revealed for Plymouth Argyle as Shackleton returns but five players miss out

A look at the options Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has at his disposal for this lunchtime’s Championship tussle with Plymouth Argyle at Home Park

Thirty two matches down. Fourteen to go.

The beauty of winning football matches as comfortably as Leeds United have done in the last couple of outings is that manager Daniel Farke has been able to share the minutes around his first team squad. His side look a well-oiled machine right now.

The Whites head to Plymouth Argyle today looking to record an eighth consecutive Championship win. On the difficulties of picking his starting line-up, Farke said: “It’s easy to name the game-day squad as it’s a such a tight group and we have injuries. It unifies us even more because each and every player is needed. I don’t have a starting line-up at the start of the season. I always react to what happens in games and on the training pitch.”

The United boss will be without the services of Patrick Bamford (calf) and Sam Byram (hamstring). But versatile midfielder Jamie Shackleton is expected to return to the matchday squad after becoming a father this week.

Defender Pascal Struijk (adductor) and goalkeeper Karl Darlow (thumb) remain unavailable for selection, although the latter is close to resuming first team training. Farke is reluctant to put a timeframe on when Stuart Dallas (femur) will return to action following a long injury lay-off.
