Eustace drops hint over Blackburn backroom staff addition
John Eustace could add further to his backroom staff at Blackburn Rovers but is in no rush to make sweeping changes.
The 44-year-old head coach has appointed Matt Gardiner as his assistant manager. He has worked with Eustace at Kidderminster Harriers, Queens Park Rangers and Birmingham City previously too.

Gardiner is also a specialist set-piece coach which will undoubtedly bolster Rovers’ backroom team. Goalkeeping coach Ben Benson is currently in charge of that area and set-plays have been a weakness this season.
Eustace also has first-team coaches Damien Johnson and David Lowe at his disposal, who took the team against Stoke City.
He has not ruled out adding further to his team but also has no immediate plans for a massive overhaul.
“Possibly it is something we might look at,” Eustace told The Lancashire Telegraph.
“If we can’t then we have fantastic staff here. You can see the importance that they played on Saturday and how they prepared the team on the Friday.
“We have really good staff here at the football club and I am very happy with them.”
Experienced coach Keith Downing was part of Eustace’s coaching set-up at Birmingham and left with the 44-year-old in October. Maik Taylor was his goalkeeper coach but was retained at St Andrew’s.
