‘I’m not going to lie’ Huddersfield Town forward makes admission as new era begins

Huddersfield Town forward Danny Ward is looking forward to a good end to the season

Huddersfield Town forward Danny Ward is looking to “start chipping in with some goals” after making his return from tendonitis. The 33-year-old has had a frustrating campaign to date, making just 11 appearances so far this term and netting once.

Ward missed almost three months of the season between September and late November with an Achilles injury, and the forward revealed following Wednesday’s 1-0 win over Sunderland that he has been suffering with tendonitis. The latter setback kept him sidelined for almost two months, with the forward’s previous appearance prior to Wednesday coming against Millwall on December 16.

Ward was brought on as a 74th-minute substitute in Wednesday’s win over the Black Cats, and the striker was pleased to make his return after another extended period on the sidelines. He’s now looking to kick on under the new leadership of head coach Andre Breitenreiter. “Originally it was a tear in the Achilles, which we got right, and then I’ve been struggling with tendonitis after a few injections,” the forward told HTTV.
