“It’s not his fault” – Claim made on Kayden Jackson’s Ipswich Town future
This has been a big waste if money for the Tractor Boys
Ipswich signed Ali Al-Hamadi from League Two side AFC Wimbledon in January, and that move could affect the future of one of his new teammates.
Al-Hamadi had a £1.2 million price tag put on him by Wimbledon in the summer. Football League World exclusively revealed that both Premier League and Championship clubs were monitoring him around that time too. No deal got done at the start of the season, but he got his move in the winter window.
Ipswich were the ones to pull the trigger and sign the young forward from the Dons for a reported initial fee of just over £1 million, with add-ons that could take that figure much higher, according to the East Anglia Daily Times.
He’s played three games for the club, and he got his first goal for Ipswich, on Wednesday night, with a late penalty which he won and converted calmly. But his arrival could be a nod to one of the other Town players that their time may be up.
Kayden Jackson’s contract with the club is up at the end of the season, and the £1.6 million signing could be out the door of Portman Road by the time the 2024/25 season comes around. Football League World’s Ipswich Town fan pundit doesn’t think that would be a bad thing.
Ipswich Town fan says the club should move on from Kayden Jackson
“With Al-Hamadi coming in, I think it might mean that Jackson will be moved on, which isn’t a bad thing because he’s been with the club for a long time. He’s been with the club for the worst part of Ipswich’s history. It’s not his fault, but I think, and I hope, that Ipswich will look to move him on, and he’s not going to be part of [Kieran] McKenna’s plans. Just because they’ll have a more technical right-winger who will challenge, or surpass, Wes Burns.” It’s time for Ipswich to move on from Kayden Jackson
