When Wednesday played Coventry in the FA Cup, Bernard had a clash with Jamie Allen that resulted in the Sky Blues player fracturing his cheekbone.
Now, it’s a boost for Wednesday as The Star claims that because Chris Kavanagh saw it as a free kick on the day, no further action can now be taken.
It’s great news for Wednesday who play a vital relegation six-pointer on Saturday against Millwall.
Bernard has played two games since the incident against Coventry and now Danny Rohl won’t have to plan for three games with the Jamaica international.

Bernard was signed in the summer and amid a scattergun approach to recruitment, the defender was a decent acquisition on a free transfer.
