Liam Kitching scored a last minute equaliser to secure a hard-fought point for Coventry City at Plymouth Argyle.
The Sky Blues looked to be heading for defeat at Home Park afer a Bobby Thomas own goal handed the hosts the lead after City had battled back from a goal down.
Morgan Whittacker gave the hosts the early second half lead but Ellis Simms pulled the visitors level in the 65th minute. However, Ian Foster’s men broke away three minutes later and restored their lead when Mickel Miller drilled in a ball to the near post where Thomas stuck his leg out and inadvertently sent it into his own net, beating goalkeeper Brad Collins.
Kitching then popped up at the near post in the sixth minute of added time to convert Victor Torp’s short free-kick.
Matty Godden had gone closest for Mark Robins’ men in an entertaining, often end to end first half when the striker headed wide from four yards out. Collins, meanwhile, made a couple of decent saves at the other end as both sides created chances but lacked the quality to find the back of the net.
BRAD COLLINS: 6.5
Cut out a threatening cross and saved at his near post, both to deny Whittaker in the opening five minutes. Made a decent block with his legs to deny Hardie. Had little chance when Thomas directed the ball past him at his near post for the OG.
MILAN VAN EWIJK: 5.5
Supported and sparked attacks nicely and had a pop in the 22nd minute with a hard and low effort that was deflected wide. Quiet by his standards.
