Cleveland Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett was recently asked who he thinks is a quarterback in the league that he believes is “unfairly hated,” and is response may surprise some — Buffalo Bills star signal-caller Josh Allen.

Josh Allen…The guy’s a hell of a player and he’s putting up stats that we hardly see in the league,” said the Browns defensive star told USA TODAY Sports before Super Bowl 58.

Perhaps every quarterback in the league, especially the starters, has haters, mostly coming from fans of rival teams. In the case of Allen, it’s only natural that supporters of the New England Patriots, Miami Dolphins, and the New York Jets are not that in love with the Bills star.

But beyond that, there doesn’t seem to be a big faction hating on Allen. That being said, you can hear some experts and people with platforms criticize Allen. The hate may just be a little stronger now, since Allen is coming off a season in which he posted a career-worst 18 interceptions, though, he still managed to pass for 4,306 yards and 29 touchdowns while adding 524 rushing yards and 15 rushing touchdowns — more than double his most in a season before 2023.

Garret, who has just been named the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year and selected to his fifth Pro Bowl, has good knowledge of quarterbacks in the league, as he surely studies Cleveland Browns opponents’ starting gunslingers. After all, it is his primary job to hunt them in the pocket, so he’s probably consumed a little bit of Josh Allen hate while doing some research.
