£10m Leeds star ran further in recent win than in any other game in his Elland Road career
Patrick Bamford covered more ground in January’s win over Norwich City than he has in any other appearance in his Leeds United career.
Patrick Bamford has enjoyed an amazing return to form in recent weeks. The 30-year-old had been written off by many of us after a nightmare couple of years.
Bamford spent a long time out on the sidelines with injury. And he only managed four league goals last season.

The England international had to be patient in this campaign, with the likes of Georginio Rutter and Joel Piroe making themselves undroppable during the early stages of the season.
But since he came into the team on a more regular basis again, Bamford has been superb, scoring five goals in his last nine appearances in all competitions. Of course, that includes that strike against Peterborough United in the FA Cup.
Crucially, four of those goals have broken the deadlock in games. And it seems that there are further signs that Bamford is finding his best form again.
The Athletic reports that Bamford ran further in the 1-0 win over Norwich in late January than he has in any other game in his Leeds career. He nearly covered 12km in the victory.
As the report notes, that is a remarkable achievement given that Bamford was such a key figure in Marcelo Bielsa‘s side.
Striker’s form a huge boost in promotion race
It was often how hard Bamford worked for the side that made up for how wasteful he could be in front of goal, particularly in the campaign in which we last went up. Ultimately, the £10 million star could have had well over 20 goals that season.
So to see him now covering more distance is amazing, especially when you think about how hard it must have been initially to push a body which has let him down several times previously.
It still feels like a risk to get carried away. But so many of us are being made to eat our previous words about Bamford.
And we could not be happier about that!
