Nottingham Forest new arrival Gio Reyna being watched by top-six clubs after deal agreed

Top-six Premier League sides are expected to monitor the progression of Gio Reyna during his spell at Nottingham Forest, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking to the new edition of Football Insider’s Insider Track Podcast, transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the highly-rated attacker could put himself on the radar of big clubs if he flourishes in the top flight.

Forest agreed a deal late in the window with Borussia Dortmund to take the ace on loan for the rest of the season.

However, there is no obligation to buy, meaning he could be sold to another side after his time at the City Ground.

He has had an impressive four years at the Bundesliga giants since joining from MLS side New York City FC in 2019.

Reyna has risen through the ranks at Dortmund and has made 121 appearances in all competitions, scoring 17 goals and providing 16 assists.

This season, he has struggled to earn starts after returning from injury four weeks into the season.

He made just one start in the Bundesliga out of 15 overall appearances, but big English clubs are expected to be interested in a move in the summer should he revive his form outside of Germany.

Reyna’s versatility has allowed him to play on both flanks and in attacking midfield this season.
